Worcester airport logistics firm expands facilities to accommodate life sciences growth

Worcester-based Euro-American Worldwide Logistics has completed a 20,000-square-foot expansion of its Airport Drive warehouse facilities in support of the life sciences industry.

The expansion adjacent to the Worcester Regional Airport was conceived to offer more storage space for life science companies, said Jason Moore, director of sales and marketing for Euro-American. The new warehouse will follow international compliance structures for storage and shipping for the pharmaceutical, medical device, and biomanufacturing industries.

“The collaborative effort to build the life sciences cluster in Massachusetts spans from Worcester to Boston, helping the industry’s ability to grow without being hampered by its structure or available resources when faced with increased production,” Eric Busenburg, Euro-American president, said in a Monday announcement. “We provide manufacturers local access to GMP storage space, international shipping services, and expertise in trade compliance to allow their operations to successfully scale.”

The 20,000-square-foot addition adds to Euro-American’s previous 45,000-square-foot operations.

“The new space will serve as a satellite facility to pharmaceutical manufacturers for materials management to streamline the flow of materials and ensure just-in-time access to critical supplies,” Busenburg said.

Construction on the warehouse was completed in July, and the grand opening of the expanded warehouse facility will be Aug. 30.
